Septi-Check™ is the first tier of service plans that we offer to onsite wastewater disposal system owners. On this page, you will find some information on the services that are included with our Septi-Check™ agreements.

Each of the links on the left hand side of this page lead to information on specific types of systems. We do offer agreements for all wastewater disposal systems, but have only included our most popular systems on this site. If your system is not listed, please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.

All of our Septi-Check™ agreements meet or exceed state, federal and local regulations. Most of the agreements include an informal semi-annual visit, which consists of a visual inspection of the major components of the system, and then a formal annual visit. The links on the left will give you some examples of what is included in our formal and informal visits.

Upon completion of each annual visit, we will prepare a summary of our inspections, along with interpretations of our readings, and submit it to all of the appropriate agencies.

Our Septi-Check™ agreements do not include pumping or cleaning of your tanks. They do not include any formal analysis of effluent samples. They do not include emergency service calls or repairs.

    Septi-Check™

    Conventional Wastewater Disposal System

For conventional systems, we will visit the property for inspection twice each year. The first visit is an informal visit, consisting of a visual inspection only. During that semi-annual visit, we will verify that the major components of the system are functioning properly. We will check the drainfield for ponding, etc.

During the second visit, which will occur close to the anniversary of your agreement, we will perform a formal inspection. We will measure the sludge level in all of your tanks. If a pump is present, we will check all of the control panel settings for that pump. We will also run the pump to check the dosing rate, and much more.

    Septi-Check™

Conventional Wastewater Disposal System with Aerobic Treatment Unit

For all conventional systems with an aerobic treatment unit (ATU), we will perform many of the same activities inlcuded above, in the conventional systems without ATU's. However, we will also perform a few specific actions on the ATU and its elements.

For any of these systems, we will perform two inspections per year; one informal and one formal. During the informal inspection, we will visually check the major components of the system, to ensure that everything is functioning properly. During the formal inspection, we will inspect the electrical components of the system, including the control panel(s), floats, alarm(s), air compressor(s), etc. We will also check the sludge level inside the ATU, septic tank, and pump chamber(s) (if present).

    Septi-Check™

    WhitewaterŽ Drip Irrigation System

Our agreements for drip irrigation systems are very similar to the agreements for conventional systems. During the informal semi-annual visit, we will visually inspect the elements of the system, check the ATU, air compressor, disposal area, pump timer settings and alarm function.

During the annual formal visit, we will perform many of the actions listed below.

    Annually:
    1. Check pump operations, MOA switch, record motor run amps, operation of alarm floats. discharge timer override and timer on/off. Verify and record all programmable timer settings.
    2. Check dosing cycle for each zone and adjust timer settings as necessary.
    3. Read and record elapsed time meter and or cycle counter. Confirm operation of audio and visual alarms.
    4. Verify no leaks around risers, inspect splice box and secure connections, floats in good condition and securely fastened, and chords do not interfere with operation.
    5. Verify float operation with MOA in Automatic. Determine if air filter needs cleaning and clean if necessary.
    6. Visually inspect the processing tanks for odor, color and sludge accumulation. Collect and visually inspect sample from dose tank. Recommend pumping and cleaning if necessary.
    7. Inspect and clean (if necessary) solenoid valves and screen filters
    8. Inspect and probe soil disposal area and note any unusual observations.
    9. Inspect soil disposal area and area around tanks for proper drainage and signs of other encumbrances or problems.
    10. Check and record water meter readings in house (if applicable) and on disposal system.
    11. Complete all documentation and submit reports to client, WhitewaterŽ™ distributor or Delta Environmental Products, Inc, and local Health Department.

    Septi-Check™

    WhitewaterŽ Spray Irrigation System

Spray irrigation systems require quarterly visits, instead of semi-annual visits. For a spray system, we will perform an informal visit on the first and third quarter, a semi-formal visit during the second quarter, and a formal visit on the anniversary of the agreement.

During our informal visits, we will run the system to ensure proper spray sequence, and to make certain that the sandfilter is running correctly. We will record the cycle counters within the control panel, and check the chlorine level in the system.

During our semi-formal visit, we will perform those actions, as well as taking informal compliance samples from the ATU and pump chambers.

During the annual formal visit, a certified wastewater operator will visit the property to take formal samples from each of the tanks to be analyzed in a lab. A report will then be generated and distributed to the proper authorities.

    Septi-Check™

    Advantex™ Wastewater Disposal System

Our agreements for Advantex™ systems include two visits each year, as well. The first, as with most of our other systems, is an informal visual inspection. The second visit will be a formal inspection. During that annual formal inspection, we will check many of the following things:

    Annually:
    1. Check pump operations, MOA switch, record motor run amps, operation of alarm floats, recirc timer, discharge timer override and timer on/off. Verify and record all programmable timer settings.
    2. Read and record elapsed time meter and or cycle counter. Confirm operation of audio and visual alarms.
    3. Verify no leaks around risers, inspect splice box and secure connections, floats in good condition and securely fastened, and chords do not interfere with operation.
    4. Verify float operation with MOA in Automatic. Determine if Biotube needs cleaning and clean if necessary.
    5. Pull pump and inspect for clogging, or buildup. Check RSV valve and clean if necessary.
    6. Visually inspect the processing tanks for odor, color and sludge accumulation. Collect and visually inspect sample from dose tank. Recommend pumping and cleaning if necessary.
    7. Inspect Textile filter for ponding or excess accumulation of solids on filter surfaces. Check orifice shields for proper operation. Clean orifice shields, manifold and textile filter with pressure washer if necessary.
    8. Inspect and probe soil disposal area and note any unusual observations.
    9. Inspect soil disposal area and area around tanks for proper drainage and signs of other encumbrances or problems.
    10. Check and record water meter readings in house (if applicable) and on disposal system.
    11. Complete all documentation and submit reports to client, AdvanTex™ distributor or Orenco Systems, Inc, and local Health Department.

All Advantex™ systems also require a start-up inspection before they can begin function. Those start-up inspections are not included in our agreements. They will need to be scheduled separately from our agreement, and we will need to be notified upon completion, so that we can begin the inspection and reporting agreement.

    Septi-Check™

    Advantex™ Discharge Wastewater Disposal System

Discharge systems require a lot more intensive monitoring than most other systems. Because discharge systems distribute effluent directly into the environment, it is necessary to ensure that that effluent is free of harmful elements.

For the first six months of operation, an informal sample will be taken once a month to test for odor, color, pH and chlorine. During the sixth month, a formal sample will also be taken and sent to a lab for analysis.

If the effluent passes informal testing for six consecutive months, quarterly and semi-annual monitoring begins, and will continue until the system is classified as generally approved. During the quarterly visits, informal compliance samples will be taken and tested for the same elements mentioned above. During the semi-annual visits, formal compliance samples will be taken and sent to a lab for analysis.

On each anniversary of the agreement, the semi-annual sampling will occur, as well as a few other inspection elements. During that annual visit, we will check many of the following things:

    Annually:
    1. Complete all homeowner, quarterly and semi-annual tasks.
    2. Check pump operations, MOA switch, record motor run amps, cooperation of alarm floats, recirc timer, discharge timer override and timer on/off. Verify and record all programmable timer settings.
Determine if Biotube needs cleaning and clean if necessary.
    6. Pull pump and inspect for clogging, or buildup. Check RSV valve and clean if necessary.
    7. Visually inspect the processing tanks for odor, color and sludge accumulation. Collect and visually inspect sample from dose tank. Recommend pumping and cleaning if necessary.
    8. Inspect Textile filter for ponding or excess accumulation of solids on filter surfaces. Check orifice shields for proper operation. Clean orifice shields, manifold and textile filter with pressure washer if necessary.
    9. Inspect soil disposal area and area around tanks for proper drainage and signs of other encumbrances or problems.
    10. Check sand record water meter readings in house (if applicable and on disposal system.

Additional Formal or Informal testing may be requested by the Health Department due to unsatisfactory results.

    Septi-Check™

    PurafloŽ Wastewater Disposal System

Our agreements for PurafloŽ wastewater disposal systems include many of the same elements as most of our other agreements. A semi-annual, informal inspection will be performed during months 6 and 18 of your agreement. Also, during months 12 and 24, a formal annual inspection will be performed to monitor many of the following things:

    Annually:
Determine if effluent filter needs cleaning and clean if necessary.
    5. Pull pump and inspect for clogging, or buildup.
    6. Visually inspect the septic tank for odor, color and sludge accumulation. Collect and visually inspect sample from sample chamber. Recommend pumping and cleaning if necessary.
    7. Inspect peat filter modules for ponding or unusual odors.
    8. Inspect and probe soil disposal area and note any unusual observations.
    9. Inspect soil disposal area and area around tanks for proper drainage and signs of other encumbrances or problems.
    10. Check and record water meter readings in house (if applicable) and on disposal system.
    11. Complete all documentation and submit reports to client, PurafloŽ distributor or Board Na Mona, Inc, and local Health Department.
